Mohtarma Bhutto condoles death of C R Aslam
Islamabad July 14, 2007: Former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto has condoled the death of veteran socialist C. R. Aslam and paid glowing tributes to his struggle for the cause of peasants, workers and deprived sections of society.
In a condolence message today the former Prime Minister said that late C. R. Aslam struggled all his life for the emancipation of the downtrodden sections of society. The progressive views and rational voice of CR Aslam was a source of encouragement to all those who dreamt of a progressive, modern and egalitarian society, she said.
Mohtarma Bhutto said that CR Aslam passed through the vicissitudes of life and faced poverty and imprisonment but never gave up his ideals and remained intellectually active till the last. He earned a name and respect of workers in the activities of railway workers trade union.
She also prayed for eternal rest to the soul of late C.R. Aslam and patience to the members of bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.
